Epiphany Playing Cards

Ephiphany Playing Cards by Luis Solórzano

We connected with Aaron Solórzano at 52+Joker. a practicing magician and close‑up illusionist with over 30 years of experience. He specializes in close‑up card magic and psychological mentalism, bringing the same level of precision and attention to detail into everything he does. Some of you may also know him as the creator behind Magic With Streamers.

But more importantly, we connected because of a story.

Aaron had been looking for a partner that could help print, promote, and release a deck.

But it wasn’t his deck.

It was his late father’s.

Luis Solórzano is not only a seasoned magician; he’s also an accomplished visual artist.

Luis Solórzano had three passions that shaped his life: martial arts, art, and magic. Each one led to the next, and the last one is what brought him to playing cards.

Luis spent his career as an accomplished multi-media artist, working across many mediums, including paints, oil pastels, and digital media, always pushing himself to refine new techniques. It was a discipline he carried with the same intensity he brought to everything else.

In the early 1990s, Luis walked into a magic shop in Long Beach, California with his son Aaron. That visit changed everything. Father and son both fell into the world of magic and began studying the craft together. Luis joined the Magic Castle in Hollywood, where he became a regular performer for over two decades.

Later in life, Luis decided to combine his lifelong passion for art with his love of magic. He began designing his own deck of cards, the first in what he envisioned as a series. That deck would become the Epiphany Playing Cards. He began woking on the deck in the 2010s. Every line, every color, every detail was meticulously designed and refined. He even designed his own custom font from scratch to match the look he wanted. In many ways, it was his father’s final work, his swan song. The Epiphany Deck represents the culmination of three lifelong disciplines and the work of a man who never stopped creating.

We are honored to be releasing the Epiphany Playing Cards, and we look forward to sharing it with the magic and card collecting communities.
